Glossary

A toll/electronic toll – is a toll for using selected toll roads. Drivers are charged by electronic system. The legal basis for this toll in Poland is the Act of 21 March 1985 on Public Roads (Journal of laws of 1985, No 14, item 60 with later amendments).

Toll sections – these are selected sections of GDDKiA managed toll roads, where road toll is charged and where the electronic toll collection (viaTOLL) services will be available to the drivers of motor vehicles and combination vehicles with maximum permissible weight ≤ 3.5 tonnes.

Motor vehicle or combination vehicle with maximum permissible weight ≤ 3.5 tonnes – they are the vehicles which are subject to obligatory road toll on toll motorways. The services of the electronic toll collection services viaTOLL will be made available to the drivers of those vehicles on 1 June 2012. Those vehicles include:

    • Minibus with 9 seats or fewer (including the driver) and minibus with 9 seats or fewer (including the driver) a trailer with a total combined maximum permissible weight ≤ 3.5 tonnes
